Kat Massey
Last week after I got home from school I was feeling very
worried and mentally exhausted. I was cramming and had to work on an AP Art
project that was due the next day before the deadline. I painted, shaded, and
highlighted for hours to get it to look its best. Around dinner time, I was
getting very hungry. Earlier that day, while painting, I was watching the Food
Network channel. I was feeling inspired and my mouth was watering. By the time I
was almost done, I needed a boost to help me work my fastest. At first I was
just going to pop a Chicken Ramen in the microwave. Then I remembered after
watching Ponyo a couple of years ago, I looked up to make that delicious Ramen
that Sosuke’s (character from the movie, Ponyo), mother made them. It was Ramen
topped with half of a hard-boiled egg, ham slices, and green onion. So I looked in the fridge hoping to find at
least two of those ingredients, since I knew I had no time to boil eggs. All I
found was a pack of smoked ham from Costco. Now it was time to improvise, how
could I make my ramen less American? Here
are the steps I took;
·Ingredients needed:
- · Chicken Top Ramen
- · Soy Sauce
- · Eggs
- · Cherry tomatoes
- · Ham slices
· My instructions:
· ·Put your bowl of raw ramen noodles and water
into the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes.
· ·While its cooking, get out your ingredients
· ·When done take out your ramen bowl from the microwave,
use heat protective mitten J
· ·Open ramen flavoring packet and dump it all in, stir
· ·Cover your bowl with the top to a pot or a plate
and wait about 5 to 10 mins.
· ·Measure out a cap size of soy sauce and pour in.
Then stir
· ·Crack an egg into a custard bowl and measure out
half of a cap size of soy sauce to put in.
· ·Whisk together with a fork
· ·
Put it into the microwave for 30 seconds,
scramble it around, then for another 15 seconds
· ·Get your ham slices, rap them into a paper towel
and microwave for 30 secs.
· ·Place your scrambled egg and ham slices to your
choosing over your noodles.
· ·Now your soup has probably gotten a little cold,
so pop back into the microwave for about 10 to 15 secs.
· ·Then grab 3 to 4 cherry tomatoes, don’t forget
to wash them
· ·Slice them into halves
· ·Place your tomato halves to your choosing over
your noodles
· ·
Eat it like that, or mix it together! And enjoy!
If this sounds good to you, please try it out! I ate it so
fast and it definitely gave me a boost to finish my project. And I will definitely
make it again! Thanks!
