Adventure #4

For this adventure, My family and I went to watch my sister swim at a swim meet at Mills College in Oakland.  My sister is in her third year of college at Biola University.  The college was very nice, located in the foothills of Oakland.  The swimming pool was located close to the entrance, so the walk from the parking lot to the pool was short.  Inside the rather small pool area, 5 or 6 swim teams and a mass of spectators crowded inside the complex.  We found a place in the back corner of the area.  It was a little too warm for comfort inside the sun, but in the shade it was perfect.  Once we set up our chairs, we awaited the arrival of my aunt and grandparents, plus two of my sister's friends from high school.  We talked with my sister and caught up on the events happening in our lives.  My sister swam 3 individual events and 2 relays.  She made her national cut times in the 200 yard breaststroke and the 400 yard individual medley, and she just missed the national cut int the 100 yard breaststroke.  Her splits in the relays were respectable as well.  In between her races, we played the card game "Thirteen" in the shade.  The whole escapade went from 9 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon.  On the way back, we went over the Dumbarton bridge for the first time, which was pretty cool.  For lunch, we went to Mill's Hoagie, a sandwich shop with stuffed, meaty sandwiches, which is the photo evidence for this adventure (the kid in the corner is my brother).  I ordered a Pastrami Hoagie and fries.  The lunch satisfied my taste buds.
